PROGRAM: UK Higher National Diploma awarded by Pearson of Pearson College London.
For each course taken, students are assessed based on two multiple choice papers, one reflective paper, a Research Project and a group presentation. All courses are marked from 100%. The Mid-semester is 10 marks. The Final examination is 10 marks. The Reflective paper is 10 marks. The Research Project is 60 marks And the Group Presentation is 10 marks.These assessments are divided into: written component, research component and oral presentation.
The written component consists of the mid-semester, final exam, and the reflective report. The mid-semester examination and the final examination are both multiple choice papers that can be taken online. The reflective paper is a personal report that you submit at the end of every course.
The research component is divided into Term Papers 1 - 4. Term papers are research based projects that are key to achieving the learning outcomes (LO) and Assessment Criteria (AC) of the course.
To earn the UK L5 HND to progress to the degree your research paper is first assessed and marked by your lecturer, reviewed by our internal verifiers, and second-marked by moderators from Pearson, UK.
Travel And Tourism students may earn up to six (6) extra college credits by taking the specialism areas in the GCE ‘A’ Level Examinations awarded from the University of Cambridge International Examination, UK. These examinations are taken May – June of each year. Examination fees and entries are made latest November of each year. Contact Colbourne Student Office for more information.
