LESSON OBJECTIVE
Assessment Criteria AC 3.2 Evaluate the effectiveness of intervention strategies for an individual with specific need(s) Below are questions pertaining to lesson 7. Please ensure to answer each question correctly. Alice Young is 88 years. A former Librarian, she lives on her own in a middle class community in a detached house. She is physically frail and has on recent occasions fallen and had been unable to get up. On one occasion she fell in the garden, on the second occasion she fell in the hallway and was able to attract the attention of a passer-by, by shouting, on a third occasion it was in the back of the house and it was sheer luck that her nephew David happened to be visiting the same day and found her lying helpless; David visits weekly. Alice has no other relatives in the area and she avoids contact with neighbours. She can be quite aggressive if neighbours approach her. The house is dirty and is in a state of very poor repair. David has tried on several occasions to persuade her to allow help in the home but she has adamantly refused. Adapted from Beckett, 2006 Question: Select one intervention discussed in the previous forum and evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention. By evaluating the effectiveness, you need to discuss how you would know iif the intervention was effective.

it is effective they give a regular check up by mentoring her frequently, he makes extra time for her now and ensure the actions but him ask a neighbor to give an eye without she knowing and that they also both come to and agreement

The use of technology is very effective as Miss Young was able to move around and help herself a bit more. Observation was carried out to determine how effective the intervention was. Miss Young does not like having people around, so being in a wheelchair helped her and also to have a monitor bracelet that triggers help when she needs it was effective.

Ms Young being an 88 year old retiree should not be living on her own. In her situation there are several issues that instantly garnered a red light reaction.

I would select Lifestyle choices and Therapies- the reason for me selecting this intervention is because Alice Young is a very aggressive individual who don't interact with her neighbour. By allowing this person to get therapy it will help control her ways and explore her about the goodness of having other around when relatives are absent.
